Let me break it down for you: recovery can be boring!
Therapy isn’t dramatic. It isn’t a movie montage with inspiring music in the background. It’s the same exercises, day after day, for months and even years. I kept showing up.
Some days I didn’t feel like it. Some days I wanted to quit. Thankfully, I didn’t. Little by little, those small, consistent efforts changed everything. I started to notice improvements in my balance, walking, even in my right hand!
Consistency transcends motivation. That first boost of adrenaline leaves you eventually in the slow, monotonous grind of therapy. Setting habits and giving yourself small rewards will help you stay strong and keep seeing progress! Once you start seeing the small improvements, you get excited to work harder to further achieve! It’s a beautiful, inspiring circle and it all starts with being consistent!!!
